Suggestion

You may need to pinch the drain grommet to check for blockage (hard to describe the rubber drain grommet...it is like a one way drain opening), but they are notorious for getting blocked with debris.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone Just looking for a little help with the sunroof rear drain My passenger (uk right hand drive) rear carpet has been getting wet now for a while and I've been trying to pin it down so had a look on here and have read a bit of stuff . Went to the car pulled back the headliner at the rear and the corner was wet on the passenger side, pipe was attached but when I pulled it off there was some water in it, which dribbled out wetting me!! The channel from the sunroof feeding into the pipe looks clear, I poked the inside of a biro pen through the hole , so must be the pipe, can anyone tell me where it routed, I've seen on diagrams there is a 90 degree elbow connection, please tell me that's not behind all the interior side panelling !! Is there any common blockage locations , also where does it eventually appear under the car?? Any help much appreciated !!!

POST 2Original post

The sunroof drain pipe #1 (same for passenger side) drains down to a outlet located behind the fender liner in front of both rear wheels. Run some weed wacker line down the pipe to check for blockage. Pull back the rear wheel fender liner and locate the drain grommet. You may need to pinch the drain grommet to check for blockage (hard to describe the rubber drain grommet...it is like a one way drain opening), but they are notorious for getting blocked with debris.

POST 3Original post

+1 Look in the wheel well, behind the liner is a round rubber flap loosely covering the outlet for that drain. The outlet can get clogged. It is about the size of a one pound coin.(I think) https://www.renntech.org/forums/topi...comment-150351
