I use the smaller white squares with standard bulbs on top next to the deck lid for the reverse lights and the red squares below with standard bulbs for the fog lights, although only the drivers side works, of course.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

24 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I got up this morning and decided since I'm off work for the holiday, I would make breakfast for my wife. I run over to the store to get a few things and come out to see some clown hit my car in the right side tail light. They left with no message or anything. Anyone have a right side tail light they are interested in selling? Thanks

I really like my Depo. http://www.ebay.com/itm/DEPO-997-OEM...Make%3APorsche

+1 on the Depo LEDs. Looks like an opportunity to upgrade!

It's a shame that hardly anyone will take responsibility for their mistakes when it comes to damaging someones property.

POST 8Original post

I bought a set of these a few months ago when I bought the car and I have been very pleased with them. They are the lights in my avatar. The LEDs in the large white part at the top of the tail light blink red and I use that section as the blinker lights. They are very bright and visible. I use the large red LED section below the blinkers for the brakes and running lights. I use the smaller white squares with standard bulbs on top next to the deck lid for the reverse lights and the red squares below with standard bulbs for the fog lights, although only the drivers side works, of course. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fits-98-04-P...AAAOSwintXR3QW

I had someone rum over the bumper of my Mustang GT several years ago in a parking lot. No note, of course. I think there are several reasons for this. 1. Most people don't give a crap about their own cars. 2. People drive without licenses or insurance. They definitely don't want the police involved. 3. They may have a warrant out for their arrest. That's not uncommon either. I had the privilege to serve jury duty five times in a two year period recently in different courts. People who never show for their trial, for offences such as writing bad checks, are found guilty and a warrant is issued for their arrest. The police do not actively go after these people. It is only when they are involved in some other infraction that they get arrested. 5. There is always the chance they will get involved in a lawsuit if they do have some assets.

POST 14Original post

I know this sucks but be glad it was just the lens and not the sheet metal. I had this happen to me years ago on my then pride and joy - a 92 VW GTi. I was so mad, I mean I was literally gone for about 10 minutes and I got hit. Sucks...

POST 15Original post

Yeah have dents on both sides of the Cayenne where people just threw their doors open into it The one on the driver side torques me every time I get in as I have to look at it and it is in a place that is not going to be cheap/easy to fix. It doubly pisses me off as I know the asshat that did it, but I had stopped filming that area of the parking lot a few days prior so I have no evidence. I should bite the bullet and get that one fixed though, it's starting to make me enjoy the car less

POST 16Original post

DentRanger (or equivalent) does excellent work on some seemingly impossible dings for a reasonable cost. Been there done that...

POST 17Original post

Quotes source post: 14220715

These are creases (with paint damage) which don't work so well with PDR. The driver side one is also in an area that wouldn't let the PDR tool latch on properly.

POST 18Original post

gnat is right... I tried to get a PDR guy remove some door dings in the back of my car and unfortunately, he wouldn't tackle the job. He explained that Porsche uses a double metal construction to better protect the engine in rear impact accidents. The double metal design prevents the PDR tools from being effective is pushing out the dents. That means, if you get dinged in the rear, you'll have to get a pro body shop to repair it.

Just dropped it at the post office. You should have it by this weekend.

POST 21Original post

That sucks. I had a similar scenario - the werewife was not feeling well so I stopped at grocery store on the way home to pick up meds for her and dinner for me. As always, I park halfway to Egypt, in a spot near no other cars. I come out and sure enough some d-bag has driven a shopping cart into the side of the car, leaving a significant dent. On the plus side, I now know a great dent repair guy.

POST 22Original post

OP, I don't know if you still need a light, but...I have one (passenger-side) wrapped in bubble film sitting on a cabinet in my garage. If you want it, shoot me a PM. Edit: Saw that you got the hookup. Nice.
