Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I almost never seem to see people on here recommending paying more than high teens for almost ANY Mk1.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Man the peanut gallery is being harsh about the best looking wing Porsche has ever produced...
GLWS. I'm not going to even hazard a guess at the final price. BaT is a bit too unpredictable.
sure did, right after the seller pumped $24,000 into upgrades & preventative maintenance.
CaymanOrCarrera seems to feel it's his duty to explain to the world his theory on the universe of Porsche at every auction. Great for historians with bad memory but annoying for joe the avg consumer.
Your Porsche looks good in the BAT ad. Shame to have so many dinks there commenting about your aero wing. Shows their lack of knowledge regarding the aero.$24,911.
The efficient market theory is once again reinforced.
I think the three spoke steering wheel is dragging the price down.
jus sayin'.
If I saw this car and it wasn't gray/silver/black I would have paid more for the LN bearing, clutch, and aero pgk.
With the mods, thats a $30K Base Carrera car all day long. You just got to find someone that likes the styling kit.
Auction prices like these can be all over the place. Not a good representation of real world pricing IMO.
I thought that selling price was a fantastic deal for the seller, was under the impression it was several thousand over market. I almost never seem to see people on here recommending paying more than high teens for almost ANY Mk1. It looks like a nice car but it's not perfect (which the seller seemed to disclose).
Hopefully values keep going up. I'd seriously consider listing on BaT when (if) the time comes. The biggest negative (for both buyer and seller) seems to be the limited description that BaT puts together. I'd prefer to provide vastly more information but I suppose you can put a link or contact into into the comment section.
Doc - I think your timing was impeccable. You not only got a great deal on your car, looks like you bought at the bottom of the market.
Walter - You are correct. It is just that the market has changed in the past 8 months or so. Plus BaT gets strong prices. A Mk I aero sold a few weeks ago on BaT for $35,250.
