Next up is the turn signal assembly needs to be replaced, my issue there is trying to determine what part I need without pulling it apart to match part numbers.

I replaced the whole latch assembly which I think was $145 online and took about an hour.

Suggestion
Check the latter by wiggling the wiring to the latch with the door open and see if the window lowers and / or the lights come on.

I run with lights on more often than not, but there are times (like when in a drive thru, or stopped traffic, or waiting for wife outside a glass front shop) that I would like to switch them off as courtesy.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Thank you all for your help.
My first problem is the passenger window will drop when the handle is pulled, but when the handle is released with the door open the window will go back up. You have to lift the handle, close the door, release the handle so the glass goes in it's seal, then firmly close the door. From my search it looks to be either the micro switch or the latch assembly. I would like to confirm what part is the most likely culprit, pretty decent price difference between the two parts.
This car spent part of its life in British Columbia, it has been converted to a daytime running light car. I pulled the fuse panel and the conversion was not done via the bridged fuse hack method but looks to be have been done with a relay. My problem is that my search is not turning up the official OEM method to convert it to a DRL. All that I have found are rants about the cost to convert to DRL or links to the hack method. I am not sure if I just need to pull a relay or if there is more involved to reverse the conversion process. The car has litronics if that matters.
Next up is the turn signal assembly needs to be replaced, my issue there is trying to determine what part I need without pulling it apart to match part numbers. The car has cruise control but I am not sure what was considered the OBC. I can cycle through various screens using one of the stalks, is that considered the OBC or is the OBC something that has more functions?
Maybe the door handle microswitch, but I would start by "re-teaching" the limits on the window. Push the down button and when it reaches the lower limit keep holding the button for about 10 seconds. Then go up and do the same thing, once it reaches the upper limit continue to hold the button for about 10 seconds. You can do this for both doors.
Pull the relay and see what else happens (maybe nothing). Make sure all other lights are working with the dash switch.
No mystery on the OBC stalk. Bottom left side. You have it so you need a 4 stalk replacement. See here

Might call ahead on the replacement and verify with your VIN.
@dbjoe96 I did attempt the window reset, no go, something else is amiss.
Will just have to pull relay and see.
@david993s I am a little south of Morgantown now, been a while since I have updated info, but yes, GO MOUNTAINEERS!
dblvanos: Don't know how far "south of Morgantown" you are, but I'm in the Charleston area & have done the signal switch replacement. If it's worth your drive time, happy to help out. (Go Mountaineers! as long as also being a Thundering Herd fan's not a disqualification).
Do your interior and door lights come on when you open the passenger door? If not, your problem is most likely either the "door open" switch in the latch assembly, or possibly (as was the case with mine) dodgy wiring at the connector to the latch. Check the latter by wiggling the wiring to the latch with the door open and see if the window lowers and / or the lights come on. If not, you're probably looking at a replacement latch.
I have a Canadian spec with factory DRL and I dislike that it is full tilt headlights, including markers and tails. If it was a normal DRL which is just headlights and nothing else I'd be happy with it, but I am tempted to remove these.
Is there a way to mod DRL at all?
Mark I, I am Bridgeport, thank you for the offer of help. From the looks of it I think I should be able to knock out the instal, will touch base for sure if I run into troubles.
JayG, A few reasons, mainly just so it is at my control. I run with lights on more often than not, but there are times (like when in a drive thru, or stopped traffic, or waiting for wife outside a glass front shop) that I would like to switch them off as courtesy.
Your window problem is due to a bad door latch. Classic symptoms.
Porsche does not sell a micro switch replacement for the latch, but some have bought switches online and modified them to fit. I replaced the whole latch assembly which I think was $145 online and took about an hour.
Beautiful car. Great purchase. The way it's supposed to work lowers the window a little when opened and then raises it after closing the door and it is brilliant. When it is working right. Wish my other cars had that.
