Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

They could possibly tighten the rear eccentrics incorrectly, leading to them slipping and your rear values going wack.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
Do you see an issue with Firestone doing an alignment on these cars? They do have a nice Hunter machine.
What can they possible screw up?
Sounds like a stupid question but I have heard you only bring these cars to specialized shops.
(I am in Austin)
They could forget to tighten a bolt. They could possibly tighten the rear eccentrics incorrectly, leading to them slipping and your rear values going wack. They might let their inexperienced technician practice on your car. They might simply give it a toe and go. Will they joyride your car afterwards to check how it drives? Theyll probably align it to OE specs, which may or may not fit your preference.
many things, or they might do extremely good work.
do you want your car to be the experimental subject????

I used to have a lifetime balance and alignment with Firestone for the same reason - at least until the day that they dorked several of my lugs on my other car and tried to tell me that I had a weird aftermarket lugs and that's why so many of them were screwed up. When I mentioned it to Discount Tire, they knew exactly what happened - cheap, swollen Ford lug nuts. They had replacements and I've not had a problem since. I've not gone back to Firestone either.
I tried to get an alignment at Firestone but the tech came out to tell me they didn't have the proper tools - specifically a wrench to reach certain bolt? I don't know, maybe it was a cop out to not work on it? In any event, I had them do my Audi and that was no problem. I ended getting the 996 alignment through an indy shop.
The Firestone stores are better than most general auto repair shops and sometimes they have more experienced techs they save to work on imports or other special vehicles. I've had a lot of work done there on my Porsche Macan, but stopped short of doing the PDK service at Firestone. My 996 has had Bridgestone tires mounted and balanced, oil change, and PA Inspection, but that's it. I would talk to the store manager about doing more complicated work, and they're honest about skills and limitations of their technicians. /X3
