Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello! I have a 996 - 2002 - Carrera 4S wich i bought in July. I recently had some rust fixed and when it was finished at the body shop my left rear wheel is hitting the fender (body/wheel arc) when i go over small bumps. The distance i less than an index finger on this side and approx 2 fingers on the other wheels to body. Wha could be causing this?

POST 2Original post

There are several things that could be causing it, the question is why? Was it happening before the rust was fixed? If not, bring it back to the body shop and ask/tell them to fix whatever it is that changed.

POST 3Original post

Most likely an alignment issue. They may have removed some of the suspension to get to the body panel and didnt realise how sensitive these cars r to slight changes.

First of all, we have to cross the "what's obvious" bridge. Please take some pictures and post so that we can assist a little more informatively. In the meantime, answer a few questions for us. 1. Are the wheels factory or aftermarket? 2. What size tires? 3. Have you removed the rear wheels to see if the previous owner installed spacers to give it a wider stance? 4. Do you know if any of the suspension parts have been modified?

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
