Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I think your "for the refrigerant you are using" comment may have pointed me away from using any old (new) o-ring; From what I can make out that this means that I should be using green HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) rings rather than the more common black (butyl?) ones.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Was thinking of swapping out some/all of the O-rings in the aircon system (which is currently empty - probably because of a leaky o-ring or 2). Should I order and wait for genuine Stuttgart "999.707" items, manufactured in the magical Bavarian forests on leap-year 4am to dawn production runs by pixies from albino unicorn horn clippings, or will the bulk pack that I can pick up from my local hardware store with the same dimensions do the same/better job? As you can probably tell, my knowledge of the corrosive effects of refrigerant is limited. Z

POST 2Original post

Just buy the bulk pack rated for the refirgerant u r using. The ac hose sizes are standardised so they shoild fit fine.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks De Jeeper. I think your "for the refrigerant you are using" comment may have pointed me away from using any old (new) o-ring; From what I can make out that this means that I should be using green HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) rings rather than the more common black (butyl?) ones. This seems to mean that its tricky to find an exact size match for those listed in the Porsche parts catalogue. Illustration 813-25 lists them as: 7.5 x 2, 23.8 x 2.4, 10.6 x 2, 17 x 2 and 6.7 x 1.8 - none of which are found in the metric sets I see on, say, Amazon. So, Stuttgart ones it may have to be. Thanks again for the pointer.

Nope, but I'll take a look. Thanks Bill.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I took a look here but alas Rock Auto don't seem to offer any of the Porsche sizes. I wonder if the Porsche catalogue spec is approximate? Seems unlikely, but at the same time it's also odd that their sizes don't seem to be readily available for what you'd think would be a standards based systems design. Maybe "Porsche-cold" really does require unicorns.... Z

Here, a quick Google search turned up a few. POST 8Original post

I just bought them from Porsche dealer parts online. They arent costly, and you know they are the right size and materials.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
