Could not open frunk latch but engine compartment opened and I was able to jump start the car using the two posts in the back.

I went to pick up my 2000 996 from winter storage and the host had unplugged my C-TEK battery maintainer so battery was dead. Could not open frunk latch but engine compartment opened and I was able to jump start the car using the two posts in the back. Great! But here is my question. After getting the car home and fully re-charging with C-TEK the volts/amps reading is different when measured at the battery vs. the posts in the rear engine compartment. Is this normal? - From the battery it reads Good Battery (100% SOH/100%SOC) - From rear engine compartment it reads Replace (61% SOH/100%SOC) Now I have been chasing battery drain issues with this car as voltage drops below 12v when the car gets up to temperature. I am not sure if drain is occurring when driving or when the car is locked and idle. So is the low SOH reading from the rear posts indicative of some loss in the circuit between the battery and all starter/alternator/cables? Or is this difference in readings to be expected?

Without really answering your question.....i would just have the battery load tested to see if u didnt hurt the cells with a full drain. The alt can keep the car running but the bat may not be able to srore a full charge.

At the battery, are you testing across the battery posts or from the positive post to a ground on the car? Sounds to me like your battery is toast after being fully discharged. They (almost) never come back from a deep discharge like that.
