Being new to the 996 community, what type of tuning is required when using the cat X pipe?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello everyone, I have a 99'C2 with Supercup mufflers and I just met an individual with an 03'C4S with Maxflow mufflers. I want to know if it is possible to swap them. I have a cabriolet and I'm worried that with my soon to be installed cat x-pipe it's going to be way too loud. Please let me know if this is possible or if they can be slightly modified to work. Thanks in advance everyone.
Hello Greg! First things first, definitely put that X-Pipe on with the Supercups and put some mileage on it. The sound is incredible, and you might find it to be perfect for you : ) Those 996 Supercup and Maxflo mufflers should be a direct swap back and forth in the event it is too much for you.
Thank you for the response! I will definitely try it out this weekend, I really wish I could get away with the supercups and cat bypass pipes like the one you guys have on youtube...
Swap went perfect, just took some time and patience. New sound is nice and throaty. Just have to do the tune to finalize everything. I'll be getting a hold of you guys soon for that. I just have to find time to let her sit for a few days.
Being new to the 996 community, what type of tuning is required when using the cat X pipe? I already have the Fister mod done on exhaust but am entrusted in the X-pipe mod also. Will the cat X pipe work well with the Fister mod and have you heard the sound of this type of set-up?
Thanks
I believe a congratulations is in order then texcwa, welcome! When did you pick up your 996? The Fister mod is the essential equivalent to having a PSE system with valves open on your car. Most people with PSE are usually looking for a bit more sound and performance, and the best restriction point to eliminate to achieve these gains is the set of factory catalysts. Our Sport Cat X-pipe replaces the restrictive OEM catalysts with genuine HJS 200-cell high-flow catalysts that accentuate the sporty sound and improve flow. When you are running additional performance components like our Sport Cat X-Pipe, a tune isn't required but it will enable you to maximize the performance potential of those bolt-on upgrades. The engine will adapt better to the decrease in restriction enabling it to make more power and take full advantage of the modified system. You are on the right track for this next step in your build, and I highly recommend pursuing these upgrades. From all the different exhaust combinations I've heard/driven, its going to sound epic!
Hey, John
Been thinking about ordering a set of supercups for my C4s, just wondering what the turn around time is for a set currently? Thanks. I also posted in a different thread but realized i was in the 993 forum
