Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Replace oil filler tube' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace oil filler tube' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just when I thought I could get my gearbox back in and actually on the road this long weekend....my 996 decided it likes being stationary and breaks this plastic piece.
Anyone know what this is or where the best place to order a replacement is?
Can't believe how easily this broke off
I can't remember exactly what the part is, but there are several threads about it in here. It is part of the cooling system. Most guys purchase a brass fitting at a hardware store to repair it rather than buying another plastic part that will break (easily) again (probably soon).
Start with this thread:

It is supplying coolant flow to the AOS, happens quite often, if not wanting to wait for a part, just get a union barb fitting locally and tie strap it, or order the metal replacement fitting, not the original OEM plastic crap.
Some people even drill a hole in the broken plastic piece and run the barbed coupling through the hole, giving the connection a factory finished look, but actually improving it !
Been here, done this.
Bumped
it replacing the oil filler tube. What a mess.
I tried the local coupling route but it seemed like the hoses were two different sizes(?)
BTW, this!
"Some people even drill a hole in the broken plastic piece and run the barbed coupling through the hole, giving the connection a factory finished look, but actually improving it !"
That's what my mechanic did. Brass coupling was a few bucks, and I feel confident it won't break again.
