I use Torque app which I think is better than OBDLink, but at least it does all the same things, but there are 100's of apps out there.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

At $79 still an OK deal (only 260+ left before the next higher price pledge). It uses wifi and it's a very handy and robust tool. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...to-vehicle-obd It's no durametric but it has its place for quick (and even detailed) diagnostic checks.

POST 2Original post

This is already available.... under $25 http://www.amazon.com/Elm327-Wirless-Diagnostic-Reader-Scanner/dp/B00AOIM2CC http://www.amazon.com/Elm327-Wirless-Diagnostic-Reader-Scanner/dp/B00AOIM2CC I have this and it works great.

There are a few differences that may or may not matter to someone. The one I quoted works on multiple OS (Andriod, iOS, and Windows phones). It uses OBDLink app, which returns quite a bit of diagnostic info (e.g., mode 6 data). O, it will also enter sleep mode not to drain your battery so can be left connected all the time.

The $25 one also works on all OS (WiFi)... only the Bluetooth one doesn't work on iOS. I use Torque app which I think is better than OBDLink, but at least it does all the same things, but there are 100's of apps out there. I have this one mounted under my dash .... it's also supposed to automatically shut off, but I actually re-wired it so it only gets power when the ignition is on, since I put it in semi-permanently.
