Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
Notwithstanding, I like to take your advice and change oil frequently to inspect the filter for little metallic particles.
Leading evidence: 'Inspect filter' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Inspect filter' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Suggestion
Happy to share but I can't offer any commentary even on the type of oil in the sample (maybe M1?) as this sample was from the first oil change after buying the car.

I now Run DT40, I just changed the oil yesterday but forgot to grab a sample for analysis, so in 6 months I will have and analysis with DT40, and should not have any contamination of Mobil 1 or the Break In oil I used to flush the motor since this will be the second change with DT40 running through it..

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I figure I'd start a post and mods feel free to make this a sticky if it makes sense to do so.
With more and more getting oil samples done lately(companies like Blackstone must be reaping the rewards), I'd like to create this post in hopefully comprehensively have one point where we can see everyone's oil sample(s).
Please post here and any additional comments you may have to YOUR car/driving conditions/habits.
This report was with Mobile 0w40. Those 3k+ miles were on hard street miles on a ~115k motor. I'll start this one:
This is from April 2012... 3,800 miles on the oil and 41,500 on the car/engine.
Mobile One 0W/40
How do I post the report as an image and not as an attachment?
2003 C4 Cab. This was my last one with Mobil 1. I now Run DT40, I just changed the oil yesterday but forgot to grab a sample for analysis, so in 6 months I will have and analysis with DT40, and should not have any contamination of Mobil 1 or the Break In oil I used to flush the motor since this will be the second change with DT40 running through it..

More data all on my 2003 C2 Cab, alas no turbo, the 2013 report is on Motul XS 5-40 changed at low miles while doing IMSB. The others are Mobil 0-40.
Here is my report from July 2013 that was originally posted in this thread
https://rennlist.com/forums/10856094-post30.html
The Mileage on the oil is actually about 9,000 miles in about 3 years. I gave them the wrong info when sending in the sample. It is from a 2003 C2 cab that has only ever had Mobil-1 0w40 oil. Previous oil changes were performed at about 5K mile intervals.
You have to pay extra at Blackstone for the TBN (total base number). My understanding is that TBN shows the protective properties left in your oil (over 1 is good), and TAN is total acidic number. The website "bobistheoilguy" explains everything in depth:

I do. A bunch of numbers.
On a serious note, what I'm hoping is enough samples collected to see if there are any consistencies or characteristecs on different oils given a healthy motor. I'm also hoping this can raise some red alerts if someone's sample is way off the mark prompting them to investigate further rather than not doing anything about it.
At this point it's merely just a database of samples and nothing more. I'm hoping we could maybe get some correlation and trend data if we get enough samples but I'm not holding my breath.
Jake:
I think the short answer for those non-mechanics (like me) would be to call someone like you if the metal wear numbers are above averages reported by Blackstone. Also, for those who desire to extend their oil change intervals -- the TBN will tell you over time whether you can go longer. Notwithstanding, I like to take your advice and change oil frequently to inspect the filter for little metallic particles. None yet, and soon possibly an IMS Guardian or LN bearing since my CPO is about to expire.
Roadsession, our reports are very similar down to the same oil. I'm at ~60k miles now and the engine burns some oil (it does that since new).
With only 23k, yours is barely broken in

I've been getting an oil analysis since I changed to DT40. The 1st sample was 3000 miles after changing from Mobil 1 (Note: I did not do a complete flush), the second at 500 miles was pulled through dipstick (wanted a control low mileage sample), the third was at my normal 3000 mile change and the 4th I wanted to go closer to the universal average of 3600 miles.
On some of the reports, the iron content "Universal Averages" is higher than findings on some of the reports posted here.
The reports seem to be half of average
What does this mean? Less miles on the oil?
