Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, Im working on a project and found out that the different generations of Targa script on the backs of the cars has varying font sizes. I was hoping someone on this forum with a factory 996 Targa could measure the total height of the letter T on their badge, and also the total height of one of the lower case letters. Thanks in advance for any help. Cheers Steve

POST 2Original post

My T is 1.25" from the top straight down and the a's are .75"

OP, you didn't mention what your 'project' is but if it's something that needs accuracy, I would try to get the dimensions in millimeters. Most people that don't own a metric measuring device just round off inaccurately when using inches.

Thanks, because of the nature of the shape of the letters, they are actually quite hard to measure accurately, even with a vernier, so yes I take the closest measurement and convert it to a whole MM. Eventually you come up with pattern, like the 996s perhaps use a 30mm capital and 18mm lower case, and 997 are perhaps 25mm capital and 15mm lower case, etc etc. Leave it up to Porsche to change font size for every car! Lol

POST 6Original post

In case it helps since I happen to have a spare Targa emblem for my 2002 996.
