Suggestion

In addition to the many regulator replacement threads, there are one or two threads I've seen about adding a barrel cable adjuster (like you use to adjust the brake calipers on a bike) to the regulator to allow for adjustment without dismantling or removing the regulator, but my memory is known to be creative and occasionally mean.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

996 '04 C4S Cab RHD - passenger window does not drop down when handle is pulled (inside/outside), however you can hear it engaging. With door open, the window can be pushed down a couple of cm's, you close the door, and the window returns (closes) as per normal, sealing. Window operated normally in every other instance. Questions: 1. Window regulator problem? 2. Micro switch problem 3. Any instrcutions out there? Thanks again for any guidance

POST 2Original post

The regulator is either out of adjustment or needs replacing, as you've surmised. Since you can hear the regulator motor doing its thing when you lift the handle, the switches sound fine.
