Another shop that services my other cars uses Castrol GTX for oil changes.

Napa is running a promotion for the next couple of weeks....20% off most purchases over $125. II needed to replenish my oil inventory and got 3 jugs of LiquiMoly Leichtlauf 5w40 for $115.18 before tax, or $38.40 each. Just thought it might be useful for someone.
Thank you the heads up on Napa LiquiMoly on sale. My 2001 996.1 has slight bore scoring in two cylinders which leads me to want to put the best oil to minimize further scoring. I have read quite a bit about oils which leads me to Driven DT40 then Liqui Moly, then other oils. I�d appreciate advice from owners who have had some experience with slowing bore scoring. Thank you.
I use the Euro spec Castrol GTX 5w40 that you can buy from WalMart for $25/jug. I used it in my race motors (motorcycle road racing days) and when tearing them apart they looked like brand new.......but then again discussing oil is going down a big rabbit hole...LOL
I agree that the oil debate is a rabbit hole. Thankfully, it's pretty hard to be wrong on oil today. I switched from Mobil 1 to LiquiMoly based on a lot of consistent advice. My local indy uses LiquiMoly,as well. Another shop that services my other cars uses Castrol GTX for oil changes. I'm fully confident in either. I posted this strictly for information for folks who use LiquiMoly and watch NAPA sales. I also cross-posted on the 981 forum and had an immediate response that "NAPA is too expensive, I use xxxxxx as a vendor." Their price was several dollars higher BTW. I think it's far better to encourage and reinforce posting of good deals rather than using them as targets. No issue with your comment; discussion is always better than debate. Thanks.
