I'm having problem after reinstalling my instrument cluster. I now have multiple senor failures (oil level, oil pressure, fuel, outside temp, etc...). Everything looks to be installed correctly and the car will start and run fine. I'm assuming I must have somehow shorted something. The fuses all look fine. I have disconnected the battery and reconnected after an hour to no avail. Any ideas?

First rule of mechanics, go back over the last thing you did. Pull the cluster and make sure you got everything plugged in correctly. Test it prior to putting back in all the screws.

Don't underestimate the pod's ability to harm itself. Mine started smoking - like, literally, smoke coming out of it - when my headlights are on about a week ago. Nothing was changed. I have not worked on the car. I have not ever touched the cluster - but about 2 weeks ago, my backlight in the cluster crapped out. The next time I drove it, I turned the lights on (to see if the bulb was kaput), and smoke started rolling up from the front and back of the gauge pod. WTF... Anyway, it's my daytime driver instead of my daily driver until I get that one sorted out... Good luck. Post up what you discover.

Well it turns out the blue plug was not seating properly. Now the sensor failures are gone but my tach starting sticking on the shake down drive.

I was thinking about this while driving this morning. I remembered the last time I had my headlights out I noticed how much insulation was missing from the wires. Guess 19/20 year old wiring insulation is a problem just about everywhere on the car. Which kinda sucks.....
