Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know of a good adhesive that works on the plastic under body panels? In the past I have had problems gluing Porsche plastics. I was wondering if JB Weld epoxy would work.

POST 2Original post

The best repair would be to re-enforce the damaged area with fiberglass cloth and epoxy (West System epoxy). If this doesn't work, nothing will.

POST 3Original post

Panel bond by 3m. Its at automotive paint stores and requires a special caulk gun. I use it oftern on my car with good success.

POST 4Original post

I've had good luck with a plastic welder. The kits usually come with a sheet of mesh stainless steel. Cut out a piece of that, and use the iron to heat up the plastic and embed the steel mesh into it. Then use the supplied plastic rods to seal it up. 3M Dp-8005 glues the polyethylene and polyurethane parts really well.

POST 6Original post

POST 7Original post

I've had good luck with garden variety plastic-specific epoxies. Ordinary hardware store stuff. Just get the one specifically for plastics.
