Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know how to install theses things. They clip into the front of the sunroof interior panel. Can they be installed while that panel is in the car.

are these the plastic parts you are talking about? I have been trying to get someone on the 996TT forum to take a picture of how they look when installed and open so I can get mine back together after getting the headliner reglued.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yep. Those are them. I already ruined on set and ordered another. Funny thing is I did install them about two years ago but I don't remember exactly how I did it

POST 4Original post

POST 5Original post

I'm starting to have a sunroof headliner fail. I need to start digging into this as I open the sunroof every time I get in the car.

fix it before it jams up because it will wad up and rip. Cost $450 to replace or a few bucks to reglue now. You will have a hard time finding matching material. Look at the 996TT thread I started.

Ok, good info. I'll quit using it and jump on the fix. Thx!
