You can unplug it then use an inspection mirror to check around the yellow part and where it plugs into the reservoir.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It looks like that there is a small leak from the connector shown in the picture below. Has anyone had this happened to them, and was the fix to replace the connector? Is this the right diagram, the picture and the diagram seem don't match each other. http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=604-09

POST 2Original post

Pretty sure that's an electrical plug. No fluid in there to leak. If it's wet it's coming from something else.

POST 3Original post

You can unplug it then use an inspection mirror to check around the yellow part and where it plugs into the reservoir. Clean up the leak and just keep an eye on it.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My suspicion now that the yellow connector is the culprit. Might be because my CD changer (which I've been trying to remove) had been pushing against it and causing it to sprung a leak.

POST 5Original post

FWIW that diagram might not match because autoatlanta shows LHD diagrams. On a LHD that reservoir is on the other side

POST 6Original post

There is no fluid in that line and there is no fluid touching the yellow piece inside the reservoir housing. The yellow part will literally slide right out of the reservoir housing after depressing a little lock-tab from below. I am guessing bumping that connector has put a hairline crack in the reservoir and the fluid is materializing that point. Good luck and please report back.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah, we'll see. Now the weekend is over, I'll have to wait until the next weekend before getting back to this. The frunk is currently striped bare as I'm cleaning the carpet, and still trying to get the damn CD changer out . No one knows what to do with that bloody little tab?

POST 8Original post

3 people have told you that there isn't fluid in that line nor at that connection. Not sure how much clearer anyone can be.

Eh? I meant we'll see until the next weekend whether I've actually ruined the reservoir or not as I won't do anything until then (too cold and dark - it's winter down here). Since I've reinstalled the CD changer "away" from the yellow connector (not leaning on it like before - my bad), hopefully it'll be quite clear whether the leak was temporarily created by the CD changer pushing against the connector, or I have indeed put a hairline crack in the reservoir. Your input and others' have been valuable, and much appreciated.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quick update: managed to remove the CD change (to the left of the yellow connector in the picture), and took the car for a 20 mile drive. Seems the reservoir was leaking a tiny bit of fluid (the connector was a bit damp). Will monitor over the next few weeks, hopefully will have definitive answer by then. Haven't removed the connectors etc.
