Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

Changing your browser's timeout to a lower value might help - but it also has the potential to make other pages not work correctly if they contain slow-loading resources.

Suggestion

Using a proxy app that can also do DNS spoofing - like Charles Proxy - would allow you to redirect the requests to another site; if you did this, the server would serve up a 404 and the pages would load immediately instead of waiting for the timeout to expire.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If your Rennlist is slow, look in the lower left of your screen .You will probably see : static.ibsrv.net and another culprit, secure pubadsg.doubleclick.net. We recently also had problems with cdn.optimizely.com. Disabling AdBlock does not seem to help. Some other sites have exactly the same problem if you google the issue. What happens is these links slow down the loading of pages each time you click the mouse. Each page may take several minutes to load. That renders this site unuseable. Probably helpful to let the Admin know because the ib in static.ibsrv.net is Internet Brands - our host and the double click is just for loading ads.Obviously if this results in Forum members abandoning Rennlist as unuseable it will harm I.B.So it may be helpful to let Admin know? Renntech and other P-car sites do not have this problem.

POST 2Original post

I don't have the issue - but since I'm a member, the number of ads on every pageload is much less than what you're experiencing. If your ad blocking app(s) are simply blocking access to the site(s) hosting the advertising content, your browser will keep waiting for that resource to load until it times out. You can, of course, code pages to not get hung up waiting for resources to load, but if the goal is to expose users to the ad content, you're not going to optimize the site for people who are blocking ad content. Using a proxy app that can also do DNS spoofing - like Charles Proxy - would allow you to redirect the requests to another site; if you did this, the server would serve up a 404 and the pages would load immediately instead of waiting for the timeout to expire. Changing your browser's timeout to a lower value might help - but it also has the potential to make other pages not work correctly if they contain slow-loading resources. One of the things that really sucks about sites that heavily utilize advertising and analytics is the fact that pages are getting loaded up with content from other sites is that you are now dependent on all of those sites working correctly to ensure speedy page loads. If you are browsing in Incognito mode or your browser's "secret" mode, your cache is probably disabled - this also potentially increases page loads, since content that might otherwise be pulled out of the local cache are being downloaded over and over again.

POST 3Original post

FWIW, I've noticed this slow down on certain forums but not all of them. Wonder if it's how the owner/admins decide to configure it. The other thing I noticed that is VERY annoying is some RL threads automatically opening up the Apple App Store when viewing the site from an IOS phone. This just started happening recently.

I'm getting messages from rich Nigerian families asking me to accept $9,000,000.00. Wow, how considerate and gracious of them.

Thank you for the suggestions. I tried them. Adblock is off. Sadly nothing improves the slow loading. Every click on Rennlist is a 2-3 minute wait for each page to load. If there was a garuantee that paying fr Membership would solve the problem ,I would do it.Perhaps the Admin would give that promise ? Otherwise I'll just take a break until they fix it.

^This^ !!! All this stuff is so annoying!

POST 7Original post

If you're using Chrome, open the developer tools and watch the timeline as the site loads - you should see what resource is causing the delay. Assuming it's from a specific website, you can dns spoof that site by adding an entry to your hosts file. A 404 will be generated almost instantly; the page may have a broken region, but a missing resource is better than waiting forever for pageloads. Run Notepad as an administrator (assuming you're on Windows) and open hosts (c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts). Add a line to the bottom of the hosts file with two elements: the IP address of any other website (cnn, whatever) and the site name that is causing RL to load slowly for you, like this: 1.2.3.4 www.reallybadanayltics.com

"I don't have the issue - but since I'm a member, the number of ads on every pageload is much less than what you're experiencing." I have paid for Membership. It failed to make a difference. And I do get some ads with membership . No word from the Admin to confirm this will fix the slow loading problem. I have no Ad Blocking software operating on the Rennlist site.

Magically, this morning ,it is fixed For others who have this problem in future, patience may be the cure? Thank you to whoever the Admin Angel is.
