Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

According to Bentley, these are lowish torque numbers - so I set the wrench and began cranking the last turn or two.

I've got a 1/2 drive wrench that I use all the time and it seems to work well, but at first blush this 3/8 wrench seems dodgy.

All went fine until I went to use my relatively new 3/8 torque wrench (Craftsman).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So a little routine action in the blazing hot garage this weekend and one goofy problem I thought I would ask about. I changed out my drop links (two were completely trashed) and while I was in there threw in some new sway bar bushings. All went fine until I went to use my relatively new 3/8 torque wrench (Craftsman). According to Bentley, these are lowish torque numbers - so I set the wrench and began cranking the last turn or two. No click. I spun it down and back up to the higher side (to do the tops in the front - 63 lbs) - again no click. I cranked them down to where I was fairly certain they were over-tightened and nothing. I've got a 1/2 drive wrench that I use all the time and it seems to work well, but at first blush this 3/8 wrench seems dodgy. I was going to try testing it on something else, but I was curious if any of you folks have had similar problems? R

POST 2Original post

Ya, I had the same thing happen on the front drop links I purchased from Tarret. It freaked me out too. What is happening is the rod end is compressing together. I dropped the torque to 37lbs and never had any issues after that. I also contacted Tarret to verify I hadn't screwed anything up.

Whew! I was beginning to wonder
