I'm not that torn over it, but if it can be used, I'd like to at least have it working.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've finally got the stereo in my 1999 911 put back to factory with a new to me Becker CDR-210. HIFI system and using the Nokia Amp and CDC-3 changer in frunk. The CDC-3 ejected the magazine the first time I plugged it in. Then proceeded to get the DOA symptoms I've read in countless other threads, and just stopped working - less a tiny click when turning on, and one small click when trying to eject the magazine. I took the entire thing apart. Fiddled with the gears. Put it back together, and low and behold it worked. Was able to eject, swap the CD to slot 2, and even play a few tracks. Then it died again. Now there is nothing I can do to get it work again. You have to disconnect power for at least 10 minutes, and it will whir for a second when powering up. If you use Radio to cycle to it, it whirs some more. But trying to eject, it makes the one little "click click" and then it 100% non-responsive. Many posts said it was a fuse, or electrical issue, but since it is clicking and whiring, that can't be it. But I have not seen one thread on WHY this is happening. Some have had luck with simply taking it apart and then it works forever. Has anyone ever fixed anything inside? I'm not that torn over it, but if it can be used, I'd like to at least have it working. OR just going to save a pound or two....
