Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I am confused -- this seems to be the correct setup, and before tearing everything apart again, I'd like to try to first hopefully confirm with someone more knowledgeable that this is the correct set up, and second get some ideas of where the problem might be or what the best way to test the connections is.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I took on the OBC hack/install, and installed the 4th stalk so that it looks factory. I have a '99 C4. I grounded the harness, and wired it following Wayne's DIY at Pelican, which calls for: Connector Pin # Gauge Cluster Pin # Function Connector Pin #2 Gauge Cluster Pin #20 Select Mode Down Connector Pin #3 Gauge Cluster Pin #21 Speed Alert/Gong Connector Pin #4 Gauge Cluster Pin #22 Select Mode Forwards Connector Pin #5 Gauge Cluster Pin #25 Select Mode Backwards Everything works, except when I press down (toward the floor) on the stalk. I'm able to cycle through all OBC functions by pressing up on the stalk, am able to enter/escape/clear the OBC functions by pressing away or pulling, but the "down" function doesn't work at all. I used the following link on Renntech ( http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic...allation-help/ ) to confirm that my wiring (from the OBC stalk to the harness I built to connect to the Gauge Cluster Pins) was as follows with the following color wires: white/black (1) (To Ground) white (2) (To Pin #20 on gauge cluster) green (3) (To Pin #21 on gauge cluster) blue (4) (To Pin #22 on gauge cluster) gray (5) (To Pin #25 on gauge cluster) I am confused -- this seems to be the correct setup, and before tearing everything apart again, I'd like to try to first hopefully confirm with someone more knowledgeable that this is the correct set up, and second get some ideas of where the problem might be or what the best way to test the connections is. The other OBC threads I was able to find when I searched don't seem to address how the OBC stalk wiring harness wires correspond to the Gauge Cluster pins very comprehensively. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
