This is not a probability of success.

Admittedly it was weighed about 10-15 years ago when I was racing in NASA, but it hasn’t changed much since then.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Finally got some scales to see where I was. No driver and maybe 1/4 tank of fuel half cage. Total is 2819 We also w @De Jeeper car. He will probably post his results.

POST 2Original post

Here u am about 3200 with a 1/2 tank. I need to reset the corner weight. With me in it.

POST 4Original post

That’s stunningly light! My car, which has a cage, was 3160 with 1/4 tank of gas the last time I weighed it. Admittedly it was weighed about 10-15 years ago when I was racing in NASA, but it hasn’t changed much since then. I am impressed with that weight and wish I could get that low. -KJ

Nice job on weight reduction, how did you get there..? Thats big help in the HP to weight ratio for sure. IIRR, every 15-20lbs weight reduction is like adding 1 hp. So, seems if that is correct,,, you've adding 20-30HP to your car. Thats more than any engine 'bolt on' can do other than a turbo. Plus the handling benefits of 100's lbs lighter weight is another huge plus in grip/toss-ability/carving apex/braking/etc,,,. Its like you put on a big brake kit. You've got an unfair advantage...lol You're just a light weight.... jmho

POST 6Original post

Weight savings in a 996 is disproporionatly more of an advantage then hp when tracking these cars. Being able to drive them as a momentum car really gets u around the track fast.

POST 7Original post

I'm at 2806 lbs dry, 2824 lbs with min fuel (3 gal). Full weld in 18pt. FIA cage A narrow body N/A 996 should get down to under 2700 lbs in race trim.

POST 8Original post

So the real answer to the weight of two track prepped cars is less than 6,000 pounds.

Are my eyes playing tricks or is that a big dose of camber?

POST 10Original post

Nothing excessive. It's set up with -4.7 camber front and -3.8 in back.
