Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

On the muffler bracket, there are the two bolts, one short one long (Porsche says they are 8mmx140mm and 8mmx70mm). Along with these, there are the chrome spacer sleeve tubes. Can you use aftermarket stainless bolts? Also, are the spacer sleeve tubes necessary? Thanks! Paul

POST 2Original post

You can use whatever bolts you want. There is nothing special about them.

POST 3Original post

You can buy various stainless and aluminum spacers from a bigger / older school True Value Hardware.. Or most marine supply hardware stores (But bigger $$) Good Luck!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! It is done, thank you Ace hardware.

POST 5Original post

^^ I recommend packing those spacers with some good quality high temp grease. Those bolts have a penchant to seize in those spacers... ask me how I know

POST 6Original post

I used copper anti-seize paste. And install the new bolts head side downward, so they can be removed without taking the muffler brackets off or dropping the engine next time you want to take them out.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the tips! Thats exactly what I did! Upside down bolts and anti seize.
