Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Hi Guys,
Considering selling my 996 and was wondering what you thought the best platform for sale and asking price might be?
I've seen extra value being placed on sorted early white 996 examples on BAT.
I'm the 3rd owner (for 3-years), most if its life it was a Texas car.
1999 C2 Cab with 62k miles Glacier White over Metropol Blue. Hard-top delete.
At 55k miles: New LN IMS / AOS / Clutch / Trans rebuild (2nd gear pinion bearing) / plus all other recommended mileage service items.
Adult-driven, clean borescope and leak-down test, no over-revs on DME.
I'd say Hagerty Grade 2 paint, interior, etc condition.
Unprofessional photos attached.
Thanks for reading!
Paid $17,000 for mine with 70k miles and none of the upgrades but I do have a hardtop and sport classic II wheels. Had the IMS, RMS and clutch done. With new tires and a few other things I have around $22,000 in mine. Agreed with the $22-$24 range for your car. White over blue always looks good!
Good luck with your sale!

Convertibles don't always do well on BaT, however with all the records and maintenance done it might not be too bad.
Thing with BaT is that you definitely need to put in the effort. 100% worth it to have a professional detail done (by real professionals, not just guys coming by to wash the car) with paint correction and all that jazz. Probably $300-400 to be done right. Then another $200-300 for a pro photoshoot that nets you over 200 images, inside, outside, and under the lift.
That's easily the difference between a car that sells for $17k vs one that sells for $24k.
This is a great example of a listing done right:

Meanwhile a very similar car:

Main difference being that the one that sold for $16k wasn't presented very well. A detail, minor fixes and better tires could have gone a long way.`
Thanks for the input guys. Do you think BAT is the best platform for sale?
Was also considering Vicci... anyone have experience of these guys?

Bought mine with 96k on it. IMS RMS done. Upgraded wheels and in overall really nice shape. Id say exterior is a 8 out of 10 and the interior is a 7 out of 10 Dude wanted $19.5k I paid 16k. This was in March of 2018 pricing seems to be a little higher these days. I also think region can play a roll in the pricing, there seems to be far less of these available in places like the North East, or say South Dakota than places like Miami, Fort Lauderdale and LA.
Id think you'll pull between 19-21k
Best of luck, I hope it sells for 30k hahahaha
