Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Why does the Clutch Slave Cylinder Hydraulic Line have the curls in it? Do the curls serve a purpose? Can the line be replaced with a non-curled hard line or braided line?

POST 2Original post

I would think they (the coils) are a way to give you a little extra pipe to work with/adjust if you have trouble lining it up, it also may act as a bit of a cooler for the clutch fluid/slave cylinder. Too much thought? Maybe 🙄😃

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Answering my own question (I think). My guess is that the hard line with the curls is cheaper than a stainless steel braided line.

POST 4Original post

.....it's also a safety item. If in a crash, the coiled loop can uncoil and still not spill the fluid, (which can cause a fire!!!!) . A line that is "cut to length" has no safety margin, and the slightest crash will cause a leak..
