Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I was feeling around for it for quite a while swearing there wasn't a tab and it wasn't until i was taking pictures of it and finally turning the line to show the back side (to prove there wasn't a tab to disconnect) that i finally found the tab!
Leading evidence: 'Use on the original version' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Disconnect )' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I finally traced the fuel line from both rails to the common line which connects to the hard tube coming from the tank and was stumped to figure out how to disconnect the connection.

One of those things I probably spent an hour on trying to figure out how to disconnect the fuel line which in the end took 2 seconds once I understood.

I don't know if they have ever been replaced before or not.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Anyone know what the original ignition coil part number was supplied by factory on 2004 C2? I just pulled off Beru 997 602 102 00 and was debating on changing them to new (no problems, just "while I'm there"). I don't know if they have ever been replaced before or not.
I dropped the engine and trans last weekend so working down my to do list.
The latest is 99760210402. They are not expensive just contact Jason from Warehouse33 for a great price (RL discount) and great service. The newer coils are much thicker than the stock ones.
As said above the original design coil was superseded by Porsche to the new design which thicker and uses an E-torx bolt in place of the allen bolts used on the original version. Porsche OEM or Beru are identical, both made by Beru.
I've been working with Jason on all my parts for this project so far. In December they were out of stock on the 02 version and he just sent me a message today that it has been updated to an 04 version, but...it's $67! Anyway, I think he's working on an alternative vendor to get the 02.
By the way Ahsai, your posts helped me on several different occasions on some difficult points with the engine drop. Most frustrating was both the manual that i have and the Pelican site talk about disconnecting the fuel line at the fuel rail by undoing a nut, which is different from mine. I finally traced the fuel line from both rails to the common line which connects to the hard tube coming from the tank and was stumped to figure out how to disconnect the connection. Finally found a post which you helped someone else out saying it is a quick connect that has a "tab" to push to disconnect. I was feeling around for it for quite a while swearing there wasn't a tab and it wasn't until i was taking pictures of it and finally turning the line to show the back side (to prove there wasn't a tab to disconnect) that i finally found the tab! One of those things I probably spent an hour on trying to figure out how to disconnect the fuel line which in the end took 2 seconds once I understood. Anyway, thanks for all your support on this forum. As my buddy says (who was helping me), "Ahsai is the man".
Yeah, you won't be able to feel the tab of the quick connect because it's perfectly flushed.
Glad to hear my posts helped. I usually post first hand experience to make sure the info is accurate and helpful.
Re 99760210402, they are ~$40 from fcpeuro

. Jason should be able to do even better...
I'd recommend replacing the tubes and o-rings while you're in there as well. The o-rings tend to flatten out with age and can be a source of an oil leak. Also, the variocam solenoid cover seals can fail, leading to a leak that can foul the #3 and/or #4 coil packs (mine fouled #4). I also added a 8mm spacer for the heat shield to clear the larger packs.
Not sure of when. But i just changed mine on my 04 C4S and they were the old style. Considering the part number starts with 997, i would expect most likely all 996's came off the line with the old ones.
