Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

After repairing my old sensor twice (and replacing the oil pan after the last whack cracked it), I bit the bullet and bought a replacement sensor.
Leading evidence: 'Repair sensor twice (and' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Repair sensor twice (and' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Mind my asking how you repaired the unit the first couple of times?

But a good number of M9X owners decided to just replace the IMSB with the Retro or Solution and just not have to worry about it for a time (Retro) or permanently (Solution).

Probably would be a desirable tool today for those with original IMSBs that don't want to replace theirs until they have too.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After repairing my old sensor twice (and replacing the oil pan after the last whack cracked it), I bit the bullet and bought a replacement sensor. Looks good, except that it sticks out about 3/8 to 1/2 inch lower than the old one. I'm thinking about adding slanted runners to the skid plate equal in height to the distance that the plug sticks out below the skid plate. Has anyone done this, or is there an aftermarket fix for this? And yes, I know, try not driving over things that go bang under the car..
Installed, it sticks out about 1/2". Plus, it looks like a sturdier metal, so the impact will transfer better to the sump plate. Not to disparage LN Engineering (or Jake), but I wish it was shorter. Still, I wouldn't run without it. Just have to watch closer for the road turtles and tire gators.
Mind my asking how you repaired the unit the first couple of times? Ive had mine on my car for a very long time and the wires have only now broken for the first time. Id buy a replacement if I could find one but nobody has one anymore.
I'm on my third sensor all three started to leak due to either two seperate idies forgetting the proper torque number or just bad luck ...tried to source a new one but Flat 6 sold their stock to an undisclosed company who wishes to remain that way The unit still works but forced to employ the Harley shovelhead protocol from 50 years ago....cardboard
Yeah, it was pretty cool at the time. Like a real time UOA. Probably would be a desirable tool today for those with original IMSBs that don't want to replace theirs until they have too.

Pretty cool to see the evolution of solutions over the years, with probably alot more on the way. With over 500k M9X engines around the globe, inventors have a rather large market to sell too.
