Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Checked the gas cap, cleared the code, and it came back on again so I'm guessing the fuel tank pressure sensor is wonky.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Morning folks - new 996.1 C2 Cab owner here. Had it for about a week now, love the thing to death. Unfortunately, got my first CEL/MIL yesterday evening after getting caught in a heavy downpour on my way home. After some research & knowing plugs hadn't been done, thought it might need new plugs and coils, but Autozone read me a P0452 code this morning. Checked the gas cap, cleared the code, and it came back on again so I'm guessing the fuel tank pressure sensor is wonky. Is 99660620500 the part I'm looking for?

POST 2Original post

Before you do anything else, buy a new gas cap.

Thanks for the thoughts Joe -- new gas cap is on the way so I'll report back on how that's looking

POST 4Original post

If you plan on owning your 996 for a long time I would suggest buying a Durametric. Reads codes, clears codes, provides access to DME info and real time engine parameters. Alternatively join your local PCA and make friends with someone who owns one and would allow you access when needed.

Thanks for this, going to look into it as yeah, I'd like to own her for a long time. I have an Autel AL619 at home, had to run to Autozone as we were away on vacation. Is the Durametric similar to something like VAGCOM? I used to have one back when I was a VW/Audi owner. No luck with the new gas cap, so I'm looking to get a fuel pressure valve in the coming days, hopefully that fixes the issue -- unless there's something else I should try? Car smells like it's running lean, but drives fine

POST 6Original post

I'm not familiar with the VAGCOM so I can't compare/contrast it with the Durametric. You will need a laptop along with the Durametric.

POST 7Original post

To the OP, did you ever find the root cause of this code/issue?

He probably didn't .............his methods were all wrong and he was on a wild goose chase...
