Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I wanted to test it out being I have the aluminum option in my car. Before I do the console and the radio trim I tested it on the ashtray. Prepped with alcohol and 4 coats waiting about 20 min each coat. Horrible. i read about dipyourcar product and ordered a can of it that claims to match our cars. For now this product cracked and stinks. Gonna peel it and start over next week when the dipyourcar can arrives. Any reason why this is going on cracking??

POST 2Original post

Generally speaking that happens when you dont wait long enough between coats

POST 3Original post

Wouldn't use a peelable paint for a high contact interior surface. I refinished mine with duplicolour trim and bumper paint in satin black. Looks awesome 4 yrs ans 50k km later. All those rubber paint products are designed to be peeled off, will suffer the same fate as that junk oem coating.

I plan on doing the same thing in the coming days! How did you prep the surface?
