Bueller....Bueller... Actually I don't remember if the "-" is normally there or not. I would guess if it is actually a negative number, it is because of some reprogramming, or a reprogramming attempt. Drive it for an hour and see if the number goes up or down. How many miles does the car have? Divide the miles by the hours and see if you end up with an average MPH that makes sense. ~30 to 40mph. ...also try running the latest version of the Durametric software.

Has the ECU ever been flashed, to the best of your knowledge? Furthermore, has it ever been replaced? (Water damage, etc.) The negative "running" number doesn't agree with your Range 1 count, that's for sure. I think Tex has your first troubleshooting steps figured out. Drive one more hour and see if the number goes up, down, or perhaps doesn't move?

Thank you all for the reply. unfortunately I don't have any history on the car. the porsche dealership from which I bought it from purged all the records the year prior as the dealership changed hands. The car looks stock and feels stock, the ignitions counts seem legit, I heard that a tuned ECU will increase the rev limiter. the car has 90k miles. I will drive it and report back.

Another test run: the negative DME hours are going down, now showing -3140h (DME 7.8) but I then run the test for DME 7.2, and it shows the positive and plausible value of 3413hrs. the car is a 2004 C4S.

I'd download the latest version of Durametric and check again. Latest version should be 6.5.5.9, looks like you are running 3.0.15.0
