Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, the rear jacking points on my 996 have suffered some damage and corrosion, the left side rear has been virtually squashed and the metal is cracked, has anyone repaired or removed these? I wondered if it may be possible to cut them back and reseal the underside then use a sill jack if needed? any ideas / thoughts welcome.

POST 2Original post

Hi, Robbie. Anything metal can be repaired by the right person with the right equipment. Sounds like a welding job is in your future. How about post some pictures so that the group here at Rennlist can offer more informed opinions.
