Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey folks, I'm looking at another 1999 Cab that's for sale. Owner states wheels are "factory" to the best of his knowledge. I'm far from being an expert myself, but I thought I've seen all of the factory wheel options available for this model year. Does anybody recognize this wheel as a factory option? Thanks!

Those don't look like the factory wheels that were offered in '99. Ask the owner for the option sticker that is located under the hood. The wheels may be listed. Also, if they're factory, they'll have the Porsche part number posted on the inside of each wheel.

POST 3Original post

I agree with above. Those do not look like any stock OE 99 wheels I've ever seen. That being said, they do look pretty sharp, so why worry about it.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys - I thought they were aftermarket. Definitely not the worst looking wheel, although I'm a bigger fan of factory offerings that are correct to a car's model year.

POST 6Original post

No, theyre not bad looking. I prefer factory wheels on cars when they look decent. Ive never had problems with factory wheel fitment. But Ive run into problems with aftermarket wheels before.

I agree, those are good looking wheels, but if you prefer the factory originals, you may want to search for some 17" or 18" turbo twists which were very common on the mk1 cars.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
