Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I was at the self wash last night washing my 996, had the wiper arms in the upright position and unknowing to me the hose for the power washer got stuck on the driver side arm and appears to have stripped out the teeth on the arm on the drivers side arm and it no longer runs through its full cycle. Driver side arm can be pulled by hand through its entire cycle, up and down the window. Passenger side arm functions correctly and does not have any play in it. Does anyone have any experience with a similar issue and or experience in removal of the arms? Want to confirm that I will need to remove the hood to remove the driver side arm, and also what part/parts I may need to replace.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Try putting it in correct park position, then snugging the mounting nut. Dont use your 3 breaker bar just retighten it.

Ill give it a shot, hoping I didn't completely strip the teeth. If that turns out to be the case do you know what part I will have to order? is it the entire arm or?
Thanks
Like said, pop the plastic cover for the wiper arm nut and make sure it is tight. If it is stripped, hopefully it is the wiper arm splines and not the drive part. Only way to know is to remove the nut and gently pry up on the wiper arm. Get some painters tape and mark the parked position of the wiper arm on the windshield prior to removal of the whole arm. If it will not tighten you might need the whole “transmission”

or just the arm.

Pull it off and check the splines.
Fingers crossed it's the arm and not the mechanism.

Make sure they are in the correct position, also when you tighten them they move down a little so put them a little higher and they end up in the correct position.
Great tip on the tape.
