Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just got a 2002 Carerra and am super excited about it. Despite having 103K miles on the chassis, it has a 30K factory replacement transmission, and a 20K factory replacement engine, X74 suspension, GHL mufflers, GT3 control arms, deep sump, skid plate, DAS Sport rollbar, recaro racing seats, Getty GT3 RS wing, GT3/aero sideskirts/bumper, plus a bunch of other nice goodies. It also included 3 sets of rims, and the stock seats too. I'm returning it to street trim and am looking forward to using it for a daily driver and DE car. This is going to be fun! Looks like the 2000 may need to find a new home this spring. I've got a new toy!

POST 2Original post

Congrats! Pictures are a must or it never happened!

POST 3Original post

Congrats. Love it. I know some peope might not like the Wing, but I love that wing.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah, at first I thought it might be a little bold for me, but it came with the stock motorized spoiler decklid too, so I can swap them around easily. Now that it is in my garage, it doesn't seem quite as "in your face". It definitely gives the car an aggressive look though. I can't wait for spring!

POST 6Original post

That wing on a Supra would definitely be "boy racer." On a 911...it's sweeeeet.

POST 7Original post

Just when I decided to get the 997 over the 996 you show us this! Very nice looking car but it's missing a rear Carerra badge.

[QUOTE= Very nice looking car but it's missing a rear Carerra badge. [/QUOTE] Sorry, it had to be said.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good call. I’ll get one ordered.

You'd be surprised how many people do not even know it's a Carerra 911

POST 11Original post

Nice !! AFWIW just put the "911" badge on the rear.

POST 12Original post

Or go option 498... "Without model designation on rear end"

POST 13Original post

Ha, I am considering to put the PORSCHE lettering, then 911 below on mine. The main thing I am trying to decide on is what color I want. Silver, black or black/red combo

POST 14Original post

Silver all the way! You do not want your car to look molested with aftermarket stuff.

Some people do... My car actually came factory with black Carrera lettering

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks all. I'm torn between replacing the badge and leaving it badge-less. I think I'm leaning toward badge-less for now. The stock lid on both this car and my 2000 had black carerra script lettering, and I'm 99.9% sure they are both original equipment. If I put a badge on this GT3 RS style lid, I'd go with the black lettering. I'm am surprised at all the positive comments on wing. I figured you would shred it apart. Now I'm feeling better about leaving it on the car.

The rear badge on the 997 is silver so you can't go wrong with black or silver. I personally do not like the big tail, not even the ones from the aero kit or turbo. I love the looks of the stock deck lid with the retractable pop up tail.

Wing FTW - any badges i'm not a fan keep it badge-less IMO

POST 20Original post

Saw this on CL a few weeks back...love it! Enjoy!

hahaha. That car is well past molested with aftermarket stuff.

I don't think its too bad, swap the wheels for originals and install MK2 side skirts and its all factory. Is there a definitive answer on whether MK1 side skirts were factory installed or available on MK2 cars? OP's car has MK1 GT3/AeroKit I side skirts but is a MK2 2002.
