Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Folks My 996 tt has a funny issue when I open the door from the outside and the problem is intermittent. No issues when opened from the inside. When I pull the outside handle to open the door, the window plays funny. It may lower the little it should, to clear the rubber seal or it may not. When it does not lower the little bit, it does not clear the seal when closed. It will ride on top of the seal. So I have to open the door with the indoor lever so the glass goes down and then close the door and then the glass raises as it is supposed to. The issue happens only with the outside handle but it is intermittent. Any ideas ?

POST 3Original post

This is a classic example of an issue with the outer handle micro switch. There are three micro switches in the door. 1. Outer handle - Intermittent issues in this case. Replace the switch. 2. Door latch - This switch is working properly. If the window dropped when the handle was pulled, and went up when the handle was released while the door was still open, then this would be the problem switch. 3. Inner handle - This switch is working properly.
