Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have a rattle noise that just started. Only occurs at 2500 to about 2700rpm while driving. Does not make the noise when revving stopped in park or neutral. My drivers side exhaust tip was missing a nut on bottom, and making a ton of racket. But i reinstalled the bolt with some washers and it seemed to quiet it down alot. Tip still seems to have some play. The noise seems to largely go away once fully warmed. Just wondering if there is any other obvious areas to check.

POST 2Original post

Probably an almost loose clamp somewhere on the exhaust system since it goes away when it is hot. Spray the clamps with some penetrating fluid and give them all a good snug up.

POST 3Original post

Interesting in that when I had my super cup mufflers I had bad Drone in my car at 2500-2700 RPM....definitely the resonant frequency of the car.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Leaning more towards exhaust.... First pretty warm day (65F), and it did not not rattle at all on way home from work. (Did in the am). Hopefully I can find the source this weekend when I get a chance to check the clamps. Anyone know a good source for not insanely prices exhaust tips? For the life of me I cannot get the drivers side tighten up fully, even after adding washers. I think I have this defect... http://workshop-manuals.com/porsche/...lpipe_rattles/
