When I sold my 997 I used AutoTrader, GarGurus, and Craigslist.

Have friend that has used Bat successfully but this may generate pia trolling questions from people that have no actual interest in purchase.

Thats my go-to for all used cars, although theres not that much harm in listing on multiple sites.

Suggestion
Bring a trailer would be good, you can set your reserve to a price you are comfortable with, that way if it meets reserve you are guaranteed at least that, if it doesn't meet it then it doesn't sell, just out the $100 to list it.

On those sites I typically set the search to "distance nearest first" so that examples closest to me pop up first, and if I am super interested they are typically within driving distance and i can go take a look...
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Since the time is upon me to list my vehicle, I am thinking I want to get it out there publicly, outside of Craigslist. So, from the above, what do you suggest? Any experience selling a car on any of them? Pros/Cons? Thanks in advance everyone!
For your car, BaT is 100% the way to go. Ask them what you can do to maximize value and they usually have really good advise. Stock wheels, no issues, and getting the little dings and chips fixed usually drive higher values.
I look at BAT everyday, and that site will certainly get your vehicle the most exposure (they only have about 50 live auctions at a time). I also habitually check eBay and Autotrader. In my search for my 996 I actually found it on Autotrader. On those sites I typically set the search to "distance nearest first" so that examples closest to me pop up first, and if I am super interested they are typically within driving distance and i can go take a look... I widen my search out from there. I've never used Ebay to sell a car, but I did sell a few dirt bikes on there. Super easy to list and chat with users, money transfers via PayPal and you just make the buyer pay fees. A cash option may be sorted out too, I believe, but don't quote me. I'd list on all 3, craigslist is free, BAT is 100, Ebay takes a minimal percentage, and autotrader has a small fee as well. Money well spent for exposure IMO. Especially for a guards red cab
If you wait till spring, BAT would be the way to go for your car. Convertible RED C2 is the toy car. Post couple of pictures from Rennrun, and I am sure guys would vouch for the condition of the car as well.
I didnt realize they had a free option. I just listed it.
At this point my dad is in the process of moving so once he is done, we will be discussing when he wants to off load the Supra. So at this very moment, the rush is not there, but I imagine over the next couple of weeks I will find out more. I could possibly wait for spring, we will see. I will keep you guys posted! And is anyone planning another Rennrun???

BaT is a niche car site so it's going to have less traffic. On the other hand, if you fall in their niche, you can get retail value for your car in a short time frame.
When I sold my 997 I used AutoTrader, GarGurus, and Craigslist.
I got a ton of inquire - especially from Germany - on AT.... but ultimately it was Craigslist that sold it.
Have sold multiple cars via autotrader including 3 to Germany. Will scan all old records, car fax, original ppi (from my own purchase) and have these ready to go for serious inquiries. Also place dozens of pictures in different light interior and exterior and set-up on google pics or similar public view site. Have friend that has used Bat successfully but this may generate pia trolling questions from people that have no actual interest in purchase. Good luck
Craigslist is plaqued with tire kickers and time wasters as well as legit buyers. Sadly the ratio is not favorable.
Ive used autotrader and CL. I am currently working with BaT. I will probably have feedback about that in a month. Submitted car, got picked, answered more questions provided more photos, now waiting for first ad draft for my review.
Have you thought about PCA ads? I found my 996 that way.
Use RL classifieds too.
Car is listed on BaT now. Ad is pretty good and photo cropping was top notch.
Time from filling out online form to ad up was 3 working days (had a weekend in there). Auction ends in 7 days. Listing will likely be in e mail tomorrow. So far, so good. I did plan ahead and take tons of photos.
I'm not selling my a 996! I'm keeping it and my 91 ZR-1. My next project is a 94 Miata going Monster Miata with it. I have the car, engine and am collecting other parts.
I'd rather not disclose which car on BaT is mine until after the auction ends.
When I sold my '00 C2 on BaT, I had a complementary thread on Rennlist as well. I think it really helped generate buzz and the RL guys were awesome at jumping into the BaT conversation. The car brought 24,750 so I was pretty pleased.
Car is sold, price is fair and the last hour was pretty exciting. Sold in 7 days and not dealing with any tire kickers was a huge plus. Sale thread was decent, had a few e mails and one phone conversation too. Showed car to one local buyer and he ended up with winning bid. Closing out all paperwork and getting paid tomorrow. BaT really is for car guys and eliminates a lot of the shenanigans other avenues can create. First e mail sent to BaT to car sold 10 days. If I ever part with my 996, I'd probably choose BaT again. If you do go that route, my username on BaT is also AnthonyGS. I try to be me most of the time and that is controversial enough.
Yes, I had a reserve. It was a price I could've taken but it would've been painful. I actually got really close to what I projected to my wife. Reserve was always secret and no one asked about, and it wasn't an issue. The BaT staff I encountered were also all professional and helpful.
Her is the email they sent. Maybe I asked for too high of a reserve price ($20k), but if that is not reasonable, why not contact me and tell me what they think is reasonable based on their experience? Seems pretty unprofessional
I would reply and ask them if they would accept it with a lower reserve. It can't hurt to ask. Their main objective is to get cars to sell so I'm betting that was the reason. Typically the reserve is something you can stomach but would hurt if it barely met it. But if you look at the historical prices on there, which they have for the 996's, your car should reasonably bring at least $20k I would think.
I've sold several cars privately and found that the place to sell them is really driven by the market (i.e. the type of buyer). Cheaper cars seem to do better on ebay - lots of eyeballs. More expensive cars do better on enthusiast sites. BAT looks to be the place to sell a 996 these days (assuming they accept the listing.)
