Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

It will also show how the alarm was set on the last 10 times it was set (ie with remote or door lock).

I can say that using a PIWIS will indicate what set off the alarm on the last 10 alarm events( ie frunk, deck lid, door, interior sensor, radio, glove box, ect).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

MY99 C2 has alarm going off without disturbance. Checked all doors, frunk & deck lid, sunroof, gas door and interior locking tray for proper closure, all seems ok. I lock with key fob, walk away, return and get a double beep when unlocking. The other night, alarm went off twice with nothing disturbing it. Any suggestions? Hate to take it to a dealer.

POST 2Original post

Some of the code readers will give you alarm faults. Pretty sure the Foxwell NT510 I recently got includes alarm module fault reading.

POST 3Original post

Moth in the car? Actually I have heard of that. It sets off the infrared detector. Try double-locking the car to disable the interior infrared detectors and see if it happens again.

POST 4Original post

Hello, I had similar issues. After checking everything, I gave up. There are many posts on the forum about possible ideas, please read and try everything. I just lock the car now (without setting the alarm) and hope for the best.

POST 5Original post

Yea ,that can be a tough one. I can say that using a PIWIS will indicate what set off the alarm on the last 10 alarm events( ie frunk, deck lid, door, interior sensor, radio, glove box, ect). It will also show how the alarm was set on the last 10 times it was set (ie with remote or door lock). I don't think Durametric will show this ( but I'm not all that familiar with Durametric). I will say that the most common cause of intermittent alarm is the radio security circuit, if the car has had a aftermarket radio installed the radio security is usually compromised.
