Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, yes, this car model actually is a "C4S". From 1924, the French car company named Voisin produced a C4S. But it ain't too much like what we know of as C4S. https://www.conceptcarz.com/z26058/voisin-c4s.aspx " In 1924, the C4S was introduced. Its larger 1328cc engine capacity boosted horsepower to 33 BHP. To help combat this extra horsepower, front wheel brakes became standard. Other improvements included a Dynastar dynamo/starter motor which was attached to the front of the crankshaft. A new sports torpedo body style became available and styling changes to the interior and exterior were visible throughout the lineup." HP boosted to 33 BHP -- it should fly. Front wheel brakes became standard - oh, that is very considerate. A new sports torpedo body style became available -- Maybe Pinky Lai tried to copy this idea? Compared to 996, it definitely has a cool hood ornament. But only available as a Cab, no Coupe.

Those had horrendous problems with IMS failure. And have you seen the headlights? Sheeesh. D.

POST 3Original post

On a somewhat-related note, since we're talking about French car companies; I just learned that the 911 was originally going to be called the 901 until Peugeot politely informed Porsche that they hold trademark over any 3-digit car name with a "0" in the middle. Porsche shrugged, and changed the 0 to a 1, and the rest is history.

The French are also believed to have built the first self propelled motor vehicle in 1770. The Cugnot weighed 2.5 tons & could transport 4 tons at ~5 mph.
