This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

21 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm always playing with the idea of buying a second car (MK1 aero) and know many of you own two 996s already. Has anybody in our group gone 996 acquisition crazy - like 4 or more? Or completed a model year lineup, like Magnus Walker, where they have every year from 1999-2005?

POST 4Original post

get a turbo or a gt3 you wont want to drive any other 996

POST 6Original post

Currently have 6. But all of them have an eventual purpose and another home. 2 is the perfect number, one DD and one track toy.

Not sure I agree....I have had a 991 GT3 for a year....no question the car is perfect (except mine was a smoker and I didn't trust its longevity). And I have driven both the GT3 and my 996 on the track. And guess what I still have my 996 (granted its just one of many in my stable). But it is my favorite car. Why? Because it isn't perfect! The GT3 was so perfect I didn't want to mod or change anything. I have said this before, the 996 is a wonderful canvas to build your own flavor....they are low cost so you don't mind taking risks with mods. I love that about the car. And the 996.1 doesn't have all of the stability stuff...so its nice blend of old and new. My favorite forum is 996 because I love seeing how everyone is fixing the perceived flaws...headlights, IMS, jelly bean body, lack of power, quirky interior, boxster-ish look, etc. That is why its the only car I would own more than one of. In addition, I also find its the youngest crowd of people...maybe that is because they are still at the beginning of their careers...but I find I'd rather hang out with the innovative kids who have financial constraints and making their money go further than the old geezers like myself who just throw money at everything, Quite refreshing really. I love the 996 and its fans...Call me crazy.

You're crazy. But I am too I always enjoy reading your takes, lowpue, because you seem to have a very grounded and rational perspective. Oh, and you make me feel good about my car - of which I have only one

POST 9Original post

You should feel great about your car! From this angle its either a GT3 or Aero....my favorite look!

POST 10Original post

It's a 2003 Carrera (you remind me I should put it in my sig...) One of the PO's put the wing on, it's not on the sticker. But I love it, thanks!

Go to the Land Rover Disco II forums. Multiple people own 4 or more of their beloved Disco II. That car is as additive (if not more) than the 996. I dont think even Corvette people own 4+ of the same C6 or whatever. They own C5 + C6 + C7, etc...

POST 12Original post

For about 30 minutes, I owned three at one time - (As I was trading in one for another) Currently I own Two 996 and Love It 2004 Targa Aero 2003 C4S

POST 13Original post

I only own 2. A 1999 Areo 6 speed, black on black (that is getting ready to go up for sale by the way...) And an 2001 Turbo 6 speed with a fair amount of mods.

Doesn't really count Pete... the track car is hardly even a 996 anymore and the RS..... well, that's just too cool. We'll miss you at RRR this year.
