Suggestion
I've had 10+ sets of wheels powder-coated over the years, about half of them were forged, never have had an issue with any wheels breaking but I am not in the habit of hitting curbs or running R compound tires.

im set on the black/gold look but thank you for the offer.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm planning on powdercoating my (inherited) black HRE wheels this spring to a gold color (undecided on matte or metallic finish). Two questions:
1) Anyone have some good pics of a black 996 on gold rims? I've always thought this was a striking combo and I just can't do black car on black rims (no offense, just not for me....).
2) Since I don't have a second rim/tire setup, I would need another way to support the car until I can get the tires back on. Suggestions? Advice on a good set of jack stands?
ok, a third question:
3) please share any good/bad rim powdercoating experiences or alternatives.....
Sorry, no absolutely correct pic, but IMO golden wheels on a black car look really good. Golden BBS LM's on a dark blue 964:
Jack the car up from rear jacking points. Place jackstands to front jacking points and under rear subframes where the crossmember attaches.
Ask for recommendations of goog shops near you. Visit them and ask them to show their work. The main issue is how to blast parts clean. Soda or glass beads is the way to go. Sand etc is too coarse and leaves uneven surface which is impossible to smoothen without sanding. Which is not an option with your wheels.
If parts are sodablasted clean, normal wet paint (two component epoxy) is also an good alternative.
I dont have anything black/silver, but if you are interested in the look of a satin polished aluminum, I have a very similar set of wheels, they get many compliments.
High heat. I think that temperature regarding forged wheel components is a key concern regarding powder coating. I'd contact HRE and pick their brains on this one prior to sending them out.
im set on the black/gold look but thank you for the offer. I have found a reputable powder coating shop in the area, was wondering if anyone had a good/bad experience. Thanks.

Here is a good post from a few years back that kinda explains what you are looking for:
