Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is there a decent way to check the fuel line vent valve? 1999 996 C2. I haven't come across a way yet. Should it only flow air one way, and not another or? I Have an emission code p0455, already checked and replaced the fuel cap(o ring was very cracked, reset the code, and a day or 2 later it came back. also takes a little bit to fill completely full.) and not seeing any damage to the hoses under here. I'd rather not just throw a hundred bucks at a new valve and have that not be the problem. But I'd like to fix it before I put it up for sale... no one likes the engine light on, even if it is because of a dumb emission code... And thankfully we have never had any of those silly vehicle inspections many of you guys have. so this stuff could be completely gone, and no one would ever complain.
