Of course , will clean whole place from rust , but now should i weld new bolt , is this a right approach , or should i avoid welding and just pin new bolt wit e circle ( don`t know whats right word for this process when you don`t weld but just use E circle to attach metal to metal)

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Guys ,
Last weekend wanted to clean rusted bolt which holds ground stripe to the body on my
996 Carrera 2003.
Previous owner drove the car during winter so rust hitter this bolt.
Issue was that my voltage is dropping during drive, bought new voltage regulator and wanted to include cleaning of ground stripe, engine to the body in whole approach of improving whole E circle flow ..
Even if i have sprayed the bolt few weeks ago , few times with WD40 and rust remover , nut didn`t wanted to move ..
So few pushes and nut was stripped , unfortunately ..
Ground stripe is still in place , most likely keep in place by surrounding rust ..
Have removed battery from the car , just in case ..
So , what now , for sure battery does not come back till i dont repair damaged bolt , but how to approach repair ..
Of course , will clean whole place from rust , but now should i weld new bolt , is this a right approach , or should i avoid welding and just pin new bolt wit e circle ( don`t know whats right word for this process when you don`t weld but just use E circle to attach metal to metal)
Which material is part of the body where bolt is located , steel or Aluminium ?
Well lets start with those few questions , hope we will end up with right advices.
Thank you guys for help and support ..

Check the left side of the car, same place, and see if there's already a bolt like that. I imagine you can install the ground strap there too if there's a bolt.

Good proposal , had a look yesterday again , it seams there is a nut welded to frame , need to clean bit more to see what`s under stripe end ..
Since there is a good part of old bolt still there , potential to veld new nut to rest of the bolt and try to unscrew it out .. ,all depends whats underneath of ground stripe, a nut or straight weld of bolt to the frame ...
Will see during the w/e ..
Ahsai ,
Have checked , no any kind of the bolt in the back , left side of the car , only two pre-drilled holes in frame with plastic caps as protection , those two thingies are same on both sides but there is no bolt ..
As I have mentioned , can not see whats underneath of the end of the ground stripe , is it nut welded to frame of direct weld of the bolt to the frame , will try to find out during the w/e ..
Thx guys for replay ...
