Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I have a problem with the control of my fuel pump, relay is okay and dme also. Its a 996 Carrera 4s and I saw that a specific control unit was mounted on this car ref.99661815001 . Do you know where is located this unit? thanks in advance

POST 2Original post

My guess is it is located next to the DME/ECU on the rear shelf. Drop rear seats, lift up carpet and pad and take a look.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for your response but no it is not located near the dme. I also checked under the battery and under fuel pump cover.

POST 4Original post

The reason I guessed that is from this diagram. It shows #(1) same part number and apparently it is attached to the cover plate over the DME. As a sidenote, our cars 996's were made between 98 and 05. We do not have the fuel control unit until after MY 02. What year is your car? http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=901-03

POST 5Original post

Found this from Porsche 996 Essential Companion

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the information. You think that is under the hood or in the cockpit?

Bump? did you find it, I Think I have the same problem

POST 8Original post

It's under the oval fuel pump cover in the front trunk. As far as I know this is only used on the 4S.
