Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can anyone tell me the part numbers for the two velcro hose wraps that are in the engine bay? I'm in the middle of various projects on the car right now and they're literally falling apart and I'd like to replace them. Photo attached. Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

I don't know the correct Porsche part number, but you can buy pretty much any manner of sleeving with velcro closures you can imagine from Amazon. Aluminized wrap rated @ 500F direct/continuous and 2000F radiant heat, for example, is about 10 bucks a foot.

Thanks, I found this on Amazon: Amazon Amazon Seems like it will work fine. It's silver in color instead of the OEM black but I cannot find this item anywhere in the Porsche parts catalog.

POST 4Original post

I used this https://www.wirecare.com/interest/ne...ving/dura-wrap 3ft x 1.5inch should be good. Post #827 here https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...l#post13889594

Thanks just ordered some of that, much better looking in black! Hope the 200 deg F max temp isn't too low, I don't think these areas are in contact with anything really hot, just high ambient temp.

POST 6Original post

Yeah, I don't think it gets too hot there. Keep in mind right below it, much closer to the engine, is a plastic manifold. 200F should be OK. Just keep an eye on it for a while to see if it holds up. Mine were pretty aged too when I took them out after 80k miles. Mostly gooey.

Precisely. The melting temp is 300F+

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anybody need to replace also? I bought 2" and 1-1/2" diameter wraps recommended above. I used the amount I needed from each and have about 1—1/2 to 2 ft left of each size. I'm sure I'll never use them again so if someone wants the rest of what I bought you can have it for free just pay shipping. Send me a PM if you're interested.
