Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can anyone let me know if these are litronics? I thought they should have an orange strip for the signals? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

LItronics have a projector lens inside. Those don't seam to be litronic.

Do all of them? I thought it was an option until the .2 cars.

I always thought washers were a DOT requirement with xenon lights. But a bit of googling reveals I'm wrong; leveling system is mandatory, washers aren't (although they are in Europe for HID lights above a certain intensity). Anyway. My 996.1 has litronics with washers. Which proves absolutely nothing. OP, those ain't litronics though.

I thought the same thing. I don't recall seeing a car with Litronics but no washers (MK I or MK II). Maybe it's a European thing like Jimmy said.

POST 7Original post

Yeah our .1 has them as well (though I've been thinking about deleting the eyesores), but I can't recall if they were standard or part of a package we ordered.

POST 8Original post

Your photo isn't coming through on my browser. Anyway, it depends on the year of your car. Look at my avatar. The silver 2002 996 on the right has Litronics, the dark blue 2005 Boxster S does not. They look alike. Best way to tell is by looking at the garage wall as you turn the lights on. Litronic lights will go up and down briefly as they seek to auto adjust the level. Non-Litronics will not.
