Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

22 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

took about a week and a half and very pleased with the results... Ralph

POST 2Original post

Looks great, what did you do the wheel lugs with?

POST 3Original post

Excellent job, looks great. My wheels need your help too.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Paul, I'll post a pic later today of the 2 sprays I used and thank you both very much; it's a labor of love...

POST 5Original post

Great job! Did you respray the wheels yourself or send them to a body shop?

POST 6Original post

Looks good. I paid about $220 each to have my wheels refurbished last month, and $230 for a new set of center caps (see related post).

POST 7Original post

just a wag, but it looks like 'hammered' finish from Rust O'leum

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Here's a pic of the 2 "colors" I used. I cleaned the lugs first with Dawn, then SOS, then a pre paint cleaner before coating up... About four of the color and the same for the clear. I used Glenn's Rim Refinish down here in Tampa, fabulous work. 3.5 day turnaround. Again, thanks so much everybody. I should mention that before we put the rims back on the car we coated the inside and outside of each rim with gobs of soft paste wax...

POST 9Original post

What does Glen's rim shop charge per wheel for sanding curb rash and respray?

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It cost me 660 cash which included tire unmount/remount and balance...

POST 11Original post

nice work - you just gave me an idea for finishing wheel bolts & spacers in silver

POST 12Original post

Looks great! I really need to get my wheels refinished...

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys, I kinda wish we had a "Like" button...

POST 14Original post

That looks great!! I had mine done by a local shop about a year ago. I liked the 996's "new look" so much I took the GT3 in a few weeks later. Little projects like this pay big dividends (IMO).

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

took him out for his first test drive on the "new" rims. Ran and drove beautifully but had to stop for a quick "shoot"

POST 18Original post

I have an '06 CTTS and the wheels on it are beat to crap...I'll have them done before long.

POST 19Original post

Smooth... we just did a set of these in the 40th anniversary look, we will post those up to sell soon.

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you. Is the 40th more of a "chrome" look?

POST 21Original post

Quotes source post: 14365536

Correct, 40th AE has a chrome like effect. The last I read there was a debate on whether they are polished or painted. I picked up a set of spare wheels that look like they have been polished or look like they have a mirror finish that I'll be having painted. OP nice work.

like satin chrome, 'shot polished' is the marketing term
