Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

When I went to check out Grundy, you had to send them in a blank check with their forms and then they would quote you the price.
Leading evidence: 'Check with their forms' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check with their forms' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have Hagerty. When I went to check out Grundy, you had to send them in a blank check with their forms and then they would quote you the price. This was about 5 years ago, I stayed away from that. I think it had to be in a locked garage also. Hagerty has no limitations, and you can insure it for what you want. I think my agreed upon value is $25K. Which is more than I paid for it.
I've had Grundy for about four years, no blank check needed, just got a quote online and it was simple to set up. They will also do agreed value like Hagerty. No price increase in four years and the quote was one-third that of traditional auto insurers here in California. No complaints though I've not had a claim.
I had Hagerty and no problems with them, had one claim for a windshield that they handled well.
But, i switched to the Porsche auto insurance recently as it was quite a bit less expensive. Mileage based plan. No claims experience, knock on wood.
But, they do give you a very nice black plastic insurance card for your glove box, no cheap paper here.
.
My plan with Grundy is mileage based too (<5000 miles/year) as my car is not a DD. They did make me prove I had another car as a DD, and they made me sign a form excluding coverage from anyone under the age of 25. I had no problem with either. My car's a 997 Turbo and my regular insurance company quoted me $3000 (Southern California but good driving record) but Grundy was $850. A no brainer.
Those with Porsche coverage,
Once you have the policy, can you extend to other collector cars? Right now I have regular insurance and American Modern. When Porsche coverage becomes available in CT, I'll take a look, but the idea of having three policies is a bit much..
I went Porsche insurance too. It was a lot cheaper, didn't have all the weird stipulations of others, and love it adapts monthly with mileage checkins. The actual company is Mile Auto, but feel good about Porsche being the face of it.
They told me that they would insure my minivan if I wanted to. The only reason I didnt is because I have a lucrative policy for it with another company.
I'm more and more interested in the Porsche insurance option since my 996 is my only car and I do drive it a fair bit. All others have some sort of requirement that eliminates them for my specific use. How does the mileage check in work, for those that use it? Do you provide miles driven based on your payment plan? i.e. if you pay monthly, you provide miles driven on a monthly basis, quarterly, on quarterly basis, etc? Is this something that you can do easily on line?
Every six months they send you a web link in which you take a photo of your odometer and upload it. They then take that amount and multiply it by your mileage rate and add it to your base rate for your next 6 months payment.
I've been doing it monthly, I know I pay a few more a month for that. Sounds like 6 months works the same way, might looking in to doing it six months.
In AZ and received the PAI notice of cancellation (under Spinnaker) late 2023 for end of January, so had to move back to Hagerty.. PAI is back in AZ (not sure they ever left just switched underwriters and confused everyone here). Just got a quote from PAI under the new underwriter and it's a little higher than before. .Base rate went from $142 to $202 for six mos, but mileage rate went down from 0.042 to 0.038 Higher stated value on 996 (has F6I engine). But still about $425/yr less than Hagerty so switching back to PAI. Guess to make PAI insurance the same cost, with the lower mileage rate, as before I need to drive mine a lot more. Porsche did send me $500 gift card for the inconvenience.

I have had Hagerty for several years for my 996 and my 74 Beetle Vert. Okay pricing ($700 a year). I quoted Grundy this year. Just under $500. Here's the catch, it is really just for pleasure driving. Want to drive your car to work because it is nice out? You can't. On a drive, stop at the supermarket to grab some food, not covered in the parking lot. Way too many restrictions for anyone that actually wants to drive a car.
The one nice thing they do allow which Hagerty makes a pain, you can assign multiple addresses for where the car may be. I have a rental garage 2 bocks from my house, they will only cover one car per garage, so if I want to switch which garage a car is in, I have to call them.
I looked at all 3 and went with Porsche / Mile insurance in my 996 / 996t. You need one Porsche on the policy and they will insure everything else you drive. I will say I did have a claim with Porsche/mile and they payed out agreed value in the end. Threads over on the turbo section of interested.
